Drafted in the wake of George Floyd’s murder in May 2020, York’s Framework on Black Inclusion and subsequent Action Plan on Black Inclusion published in 2021 lay out guiding principles and implementation steps for redressing anti-Black racism at all system levels within the university. Developed through extensive community consultations with Black students, faculty, instructors, and staff, the Framework and Action Plan identify nine priorities for structural and cultural change at York: representation, safety, knowledge creation, mental health, community, data, eduation, decision-making, and accountability. The Division of Equity, People, & Culture posts regular reports on progress made toward these objectives.
